About usMBSC Style Speed Steel Competition is usually 4 stages of 2 or 3 strings each stage with scenarios of from 5 to 20 rounds each string. Stages vary month to month.
-Targets usually consist of a variety of static steel, from 1 to 10 targets set at a distance of 10 to 15 yrds.
-Scoring is calculated by adding raw time plus 2 seconds per miss and a 5 second procedural for shooting out of order. We take the best of 2 string times or sometimes the best 2 out of 3 string times for your total stage score.
-Shooters can choose from any 2 of 4 different categories. Rimfire pistol or rifle and centerfire pistol or pistol caliber carbine/rifle.
-Equipment: Each competitor will need eye and ear protection, sufficient reloading devices to complete the stage without stopping to reload magazines etc., and a strong side holster if competing in the centerfire pistol category.
-Fee is $20 for 1 category and an additional $5 for a second category.
